Solar Viewing with a NASA Ambassador

We see it every day, but how much do we know about the sun? Join us (in-person) at Schimelpfenig Library for a special solar viewing with NASA Solar System Ambassador Les Murray on Monday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Learn about the sun and safely observe it using specially designed solar telescopes. See solar prominences sunspots, magnetic loops and solar eclipses. Hear about the NASA Parker Solar Probe currently diving through the atmosphere of the sun.

Continue your space exploration with Les Murray’s Discover Mars and Explore the Night Sky workshops on the Plano Public Library YouTube channel. Be sure to read our past blog posts from Les with questions and answers about space and Mars, and photos.
