Fall 2021 Book Clubs

There are some fun themes and book choices for our clubs this fall. Check out this post for the list, as well as details on when and where we are meeting.

What Are You Reading Now

Read and discuss great books you’ve read. WAYRN meets on the first Monday of the month at 3 p.m. – this fall, WAYRN is meeting in person at Haggard Library and online via Zoom at the same time. No registration is needed for in-person; for Zoom register here. Check out past lists of books our WAYRN attendees have been reading here on the blog.


Second Tuesday Book Club

Read and discuss great fiction and non-fiction books on the second Tuesday monthly (except December) at 7 p.m. at Schimelpfenig Library. Previous sessions met via Zoom, and starting September these will move back to fully in-person. Here are the upcoming dates and titles we’re discussing:

Chinese Book Talk

Read and discuss great Chinese books on the second Thursday each month at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Register online here.

In addition to this monthly meeting, we’re also hosting: “Jin Yong and Gu Long” Presentation on Saturday, September 11 at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Dr. Woody Wu will compare the novels written by the two most famous authors of Chinese swordsmanship. Register here.


Cook the Book

Choose your favorite recipe for the monthly topic, prepare the dish and participate in a robust discussion on cooking. This fall, Cook the Book will remain virtual and continues to meet on the third Tuesday at 1 p.m. via Zoom. Register here. Our dates and topics for this fall are:
