Something About Libby: Deliver Later

Sometimes (okay, often), a bunch of holds come in at the same time for a single reader. And just like with physical items inside the library, you can suspend holds with your eBooks and audiobooks in the Libby app!

When a hold becomes available, you have 72 hours to borrow it. If you’re not ready to borrow it, you can have it delivered later.

In the Deliver Later feature, you can choose how many days to pause the hold and then you keep your place in line while others read the book during that pause. Once your suspended time has passed, and the book becomes available again, you will receive the hold!

  1. Look at your Shelf
  2. See the “Ready to borrow!” section
  3. Tap on “Delivery Later”
  4. Choose the number of days you want to delay the hold
  5. Tap “Schedule Hold”
  6. Return to your Shelf

As noted on the Libby Help page:If you don’t borrow the title during its 72-hour hold pickup window, it will be automatically scheduled for later delivery. Automatic rescheduling happens once per hold. If you don’t act on the available hold a second time, the hold will be canceled.
