Plano Learns: Make a Mandala

Learn about the cultural history of mandalas and create your own using radial symmetry.

On August 21, 2020 we hosted Make a Mandala, a virtual workshop taught by library staff. In this blog post, you will find the recording of the workshop, along with additional learning resources to help you explore your artistic skills.

A mandala is a repetitive geometric pattern that begins with a central dot and works outwards. They are symbolic in many cultures, often representing wholeness and unity. View the recording below to learn more about the origins of mandalas and how radial symmetry (a design that repeats from a central point) helps create these beautiful designs.
