Reel Reading: Mysteries and Thrillers

Do you enjoy a good binge fest over books, TV series or films? Join us to talk about all things binge-worthy in our newest club just for teens.

Reel Reading is a teen-specific book, film and TV club meeting virtually on the fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m. via Zoom. This club is for ages 13-18, starts September 22 and you can register here. Each month will have a genre or theme to explore, and for September we’re getting into the spooky mood with thrillers and mysteries.

Read more about this new club from Teen Street Team member Emma:

For as long as I can remember, reading has been one of my greatest passions. I love the power books have to transport me anywhere in the world at any time. Recently, I have been interested in mysteries and thrillers, and have read countless novels in the genre. I even started watching mystery shows and movies!

As a member of Teen Street Team (TST), I am proud to introduce Reel Reading, a new teen club that will meet via Zoom on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8 pm. One of the most exciting aspects of this club is that we welcome all media forms to be discussed. We hope this will encourage more teens to join to talk about their favorite novels, shows, or movies on the topic!

Another unique part of this club is that it is genre-based, and each month has a different theme. For the September 22 meeting, we will focus on mysteries and thrillers (my favorite!). At the last TST meeting, we came up with a list of recommended books which can all be found in the library catalog in book, eBook, and eAudio form. These books include:
