Early Literacy Tips

Learn how to incorporate literacy into your child’s daily routines at home, on the go, and at the library. Playing, Reading, Singing, Talking, and Writing are important pre-reading practices. Early Literacy Tips is a video series, and we have more in-depth blog posts under the Early Literacy tag.

Workstations

Grocery store H-E-B/Central Market donated two workstations to Plano Public Library, located at Haggard Library. Library goers with a baby or toddler now have a simple and safe way to use a computer on-site and keep the little one close! H-E-B provided two produce-themed workstations with side-by-side connectivity as the primary feature. Engaging visuals and activities in the space keep babies and toddlers curious, exploring and amused. The child space includes a large mirror, games to develop motor skills and a peek-a-boo wall.
